Dr. Ren Zhiyuan, Professor level senior engineer, Senior Specialist of Foreign Environmental Cooperation Center, affiliated to Ministry of Ecology and Environment of P.R. China (FECO/MEE, China), is a member of the Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) Committee of the Chinese Society of Environmental Sciences, an expert of the National Expert Bank for Emergency Disposal and Management of COVID-19 medical Waste, and an expert of the Think Tank for Environmental Management of Chemicals and Waste of the Basel Convention Regional Center for Asia and the Pacific.
He has been engaged in the management of international environmental cooperation projects for over ten years, and has carried out research work on the negotiation and implementation of the Stockholm Convention on POPs, environmental management of solid waste and chemical, etc. He is responsible for and undertook more than 10 international cooperation projects and research projects, participated in the negotiations of the Conference of the Parties and the work of the special committees under the Convention, and won one National Award for Science and Technology Progress.
